Advanced Hoof Supplement with Biotin
For Horses

Soundness in the Horse begins with a healthy hoof. And Hoof ReNu provides your horse with the ingredients he needs to grow strong hooves. Hoof Renu provides key amino acids, trace minerals and vitamins that studies have shown are critical to supporting hoof health. Additional benefits of supplementing your horse with biotin is increased hair growth and thickness for a more lustrous mane and tail. Hoof ReNu’s formula provides one of the highest concentrations of biotin available and does not contain sugar, grains, additives or fillers.

50mg of Biotin per serving

Hoof ReNu’s formula uses 50mg per serving of high-grade, purified biotin, which is vital to the growth of strong, healthy hooves. Research studies show that long-term, daily supplementation of biotin for horses hooves helps improve the growth rate and strength. While biotin supplementation is essential to maintain healthy hoof growth in horses, biotin alone is not enough. In order to achieve maximum results Hoof ReNu combines biotin with other key nutrients such as lysine, tyrosine, zinc, copper, methionine and MSM, which are instrumental in restoring and maintaining strong, healthy hooves.Biotin for Horses Polo Horses running

Sea Kelp – A Unique Advantage

Hoof ReNu’s special addition of sea kelp makes Hoof ReNu a uniquely superior product, as sea kelp is one of nature’s richest sources of vitamins, minerals and amino acids. Sea kelp contains 20 amino acids, which are the building blocks of protein and necessary for the production and maintenance of tissues throughout the body, including the hoof wall. Additionally, natural sea kelp contains iodine, beta carotene, Vitamins C, D and E, plus a wide variety of B vitamins. And sea kelp is an excellent source of micro-nutrients including calcium and magnesium, which are necessary to help support the strength and integrity of hoof structures.

Use Hoof ReNu for dry, broken or cracked hooves, aid in repairing quarter cracks, eroding hoof walls, poor quality soles and frogs, or to build thicker hoof walls. A horse’s hoof normally takes between 9 months to a year to re-grow, and the new healthy hoof grows from the coronary band downwards, so it is best to use Hoof ReNu daily over the course of several months to see the benefits of this or any hoof treatment.

What Others Are Saying:

healthy horse hoof after biotin for horsesWhen my husband and I had the opportunity to purchase a horse, we were made aware if the fact that he had a long history of quarter cracks on three of his hoofs. We did purchase him and took the gamble! We started him on Hoof ReNu and since then we have not had a new quarter crack or any other hoof issues that would lay him up. Britta Jacobson, BV Ranch – CA

I switched to Hoof ReNu from another hoof supplement on the recommendation of my farrier. His hooves are doing so much better and the cracks and ridges have completely grown out. Within a few months I started seeing a complete difference – I’ll never try another hoof supplement again. Cheryl – Weimer, TX

My horse’s hooves are now in great shape and my shoer is really happy with their condition. No abscesses, bruising, splitting, and the walls are in great shape. We’ve been using your Hoof ReNu product for almost 6 months now, so the new hoof should be about half grown down by now. Kathy – Norco, CA

Ever since I started giving Hoof ReNu to my thoroughbred, I noticed a change in her feet PLUS her coat and mane and tail now have a really nice shine as well. Her hooves look healthier and are not as sensitive, and she loves the taste of it and eats it with no problem. I highly recommend it. Evelyn – Cottage Grove, OR

I’ve tried several different hoof supplements and Hoof ReNu is the only one that has consistently shown positive results. I knew Biotin for horses was critical but isn’t enough on it’s own.  My 2 horses have good hooves and I want to keep them that way; Hoof ReNu keeps them strong and healthy and helps grow out any cracks that develop before they become problems. I plan to keep using it so they maintain their healthy feet. Karen – Temecula, CA

Our 6 year old, 2,000 pound draft gelding, Sam is very heavy on his hooves, and they split and chip very easily under such extreme stress. One year later, his hooves are totally sound.  Bill – Vancouver, WA

I highly recommend this product – not only does my horse have stronger, healthier hooves but his coat is shiny and we are now seeing new mane and tail growth. I’ve used biotin for horses before but the additional benefits in this product really came through. Jerry – Taos, NMBarrel Horse biotin for horses

When I rescued my horse, she came to me with large cracks in her hooves, and the walls were soft and crumbly. On the advice of my farrier, I put her on Hoof ReNu for 8 months and now the cracks are just barely noticeable. She keeps her shoes on now for the first time without a problem and her hooves are much stronger. Sharon – Cave Creek, AZ

Horse Hoof Supplement Ingredient Glossary:

Biotin

A member of the B-vitamin family. Like all B-vitamins, biotin is water soluble and, therefore, cannot be stored in body fats. Since biotin cannot be stored in the body, it must be present in your horse’s daily diet. Should any excess biotin be given to the horse, it is eliminated in the urine. Biotin exists in virtually every cell in the body and is an essential coenzyme for several metabolic pathways, including the growth of healthy horse hooves due to its role in collagen formation. Biotin also stimulates the maturation of skin cells at the coronary band into the specialized horn cells of the hoof wall and increases the production of keratin, the structural protein of the hoof wall. While it is true that biotin can be produced by the horse’s natural intestinal bacteria, this type of microbial production takes place in the lower intestines where very little nutrient absorption occurs. It is unlikely much of this naturally produced biotin can be utilized by the horse. Depending on the amount of biotin in the horse’s daily diet, supplementation should be considered.

Boron Citrate

A trace element which plays an important role in bone and hoof development by helping to metabolize calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium; Boron is needed for the growth and development of new cells.

Calcium/Phosphorus

A basic element found in nearly all organized tissues, calcium is the most abundant mineral in the body and combines with phosphorus to form calcium phosphate in the bones and teeth. It is essential for the normal functioning of nerves and muscles and plays a role in blood coagulation and in many enzymatic processes. Calcium is needed for laminar attachment in the hoof horn. Calcium and phosphorus, and their ratio to each other, are related to normal hoof development.

Cobalt

Cobalt (Co), one of the microminerals, is important for blood cell formation and is essential for the synthesis of Vitamin B-12.

Copper

Copper is classified as a micromineral and plays a key role in production of tendons, ligaments, cartilage and bone. It is involved in the formation of red blood cells, the absorption and utilization of iron, and the synthesis and release of life-sustaining proteins and enzymes. These enzymes, in turn, produce cellular energy and regulate nerve transmission and oxygen transport. Copper regulates the metabolism of actively dividing cells and is needed to form the reinforcing cross links between keratin proteins. Deficiencies of both zinc and copper are believed to cause soft feet, cracks, sole hemorrhages and increased risk of abscesses, thrush and laminitis.

Kelp

Sea kelp is one of nature’s richest sources of vitamins, minerals and amino acids. Sea kelp contains 20 amino acids, which are the building blocks of protein and necessary for the production and maintenance of tissues throughout the body, including the hoof wall. Additionally, natural sea kelp contains beta carotene, Vitamins C, D and E, plus a wide variety of B vitamins. And sea kelp is an excellent source of micro-nutrients including calcium and magnesium, which are necessary to help support the strength and integrity of hoof structures.

L-Lysine

Lysine is an essential amino acids (building blocks of protein) that the body cannot manufacture on its own. L-lysine benefits the skeletal system by contributing to the production of collagen, the protein used to make bone, tendons, cartilage and connective tissue.

Manganese

Manganese is a trace element crucial for proper formation of healthy bones and joints. It is concentrated in cell mitochondria, mostly in the pituitary gland, liver, pancreas, kidney, and bone, influences the synthesis of mucopolysaccharides, stimulates hepatic synthesis of cholesterol and fatty acids, and is a co-factor in many enzymes, including arginase and alkaline phosphatase in the liver.

L-Methionine and L-Tyrosine

L-Methionine and L-Tyrosine are sulfur-based amino acids that are important for the proper utilization of lipids and building the sulfur crosslinks that add strength to connective tissue proteins.

MSM

MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) is an organic sulfur that plays a critical role in the formation of protein and connective tissue. Sulfur is a naturally occurring mineral that is available in two forms: dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and methylsulfonylmethane (MSM). MSM occurs naturally in several species of plants, and is important in joint health and also helps form connective tissue — cartilage, tendons, and ligaments. It may also slow the nerve impulses that transmit pain signals, reducing pain.

Silicon

Silicon stabilizes cell walls, important for cell division. Silicon is important in the formation of connective tissues (bones, cartilage, tendons, hair, skin, hooves).

Zinc

Zinc is a necessary trace element in the diet, forming an essential part of many enzymes, and playing an important role in protein synthesis and in cell division. Involved in over 100 enzyme systems ranging from connective tissue formation and antioxidant protection to carbohydrate metabolism and immune system function, zinc is most recognized for its role in healthy connective tissue formation.

Geyer etal (1994) conducted a long term study to determine the influence of daily dietary biotin in horses with brittle hoof horn and chipped hooves, using 97 horses over a 6 year period. The hoof horn condition of the supplemented horses improved after 8-15 months as determined by microscopic findings. The growth rate of coronary horn was similar in supplemented and non-supplemented horses. The hoof horn condition deteriorated significantly in 70% of horses after biotin supplementation ceased. The authors concluded that biotin should be continuously supplemented at the full dosage in horses with severe hoof horn alterations.
